The Yorkshire and the Humber Blueprint for Hyper-Acute Stroke Services, prepared on behalf of the 23 Yorkshire and the Humber CCGs is now available
The blueprint was prepared in response to Sentinel Stroke National Audit Programme (SSNAP) data suggesting that some services are under-performing, with unacceptable variation between services
The blueprint highlights the insufficient medical, nursing, therapy and diagnostic workforce to continue with hyper-acute stroke services on fourteen sites
Consolidating the specialist workforce into a smaller number of hyper-acute units provides the opportunity to improve quality, increase capacity to deliver seven-day consultant-led stroke services, and maximise sustainability
