Eating Disorder Learning Collaborative

The Children and Young People’s Eating Disorder Learning Collaborative is chaired by our Clinical Associate and meets quarterly (for meeting dates please see ‘Meetings and Events’).

The aims of the learning collaborative are to;

  • Develop a learning community within Yorkshire and the Humber that focuses on meeting the needs of children and young people with eating disorders and improving the care they receive.
  • rn
  • Reduce inequalities and ensure equity in access across the region.                     
  • rn
  • Support the delivery of the Long Term Plan ambitions around eating disorders, including timely access and achievement of the national standards
  • rn
  • Support the service development and improvement of community services in line with national guidance and NICE standards.

Every year we undertake an annual mapping exercise based on national guidance, to help the collaborative identify areas of strength and areas for improvement to inform the clinical network work programme.

In response to feedback from our Learning Collaborative and Provider Improvement Forum we have developed a programme of learning lunches for professionals (for further information see ‘Meetings and Events’).

BEAT have also recently delivered 2 training courses  1) Beyond the Symptoms (professionals) and 2) Developing Dolphins (parents/carers) which have been positively evaluated.

Eating Disorder Awareness Week

This year the theme was ‘Binge Eating’. More people live with binge eating disorder than anorexia or bulimia and is more common than people think. Helpful resources can be found here.
