Introduction

Reducing the level of avoidable maternal morbidities and improving women’s experience during this time has been identified as a national and a local priority via the Yorkshire and the Humber CN Stakeholder Engagement Event and the National Maternity Review (Better Births).

Progress to date

  • MEaCC Workshop: held on 3rd March 2016, to consider national evidence and best practice, the work of the Adult Critical Care Operational Delivery Network (ODN) and the Y&H position, taken from the overview of findings from the maternity service engagement visits. 

  • Agreed 4 key work areas for improvement: 

    • Training and Competencies

    • Staffing Levels

    • Patient Experience

    • Other e.g. No designated HDU room / area

  • MEaCC Task & Finish Group (T&FG): Group established July 2016 agreed the scope and Terms of Reference for the group.
